As part of an effort to support the development of accessible community spaces in Midtown, particularly the adaptive reuse of long-vacant and/or distressed properties,  NoVo and its funding partners provided significant capital improvement funding to help TRANSART complete this extensive restoration project and achieve its vision to establish “ the region’s first institution dedicated to the exploration and celebration of the 400 year history of African Americans in the Hudson Valley – a home to historical exhibits and archives, flexible gallery space for classic and contemporary works of art and TRANSART administrative offices.”
