Journeying Into 2024
Dear Friends & Neighbors,
By now, 2024 is in full-swing. As we embrace the energy of a New Year, we remain incredibly grateful for each and every one of our partners in Kingston.
While our collective work will never be done, we appreciate that 2023 gave the opportunity to share in celebration with our community as we participated in several special events during the last months of 2023. In October, The Broadway Bubble celebrated its second annual Bubble Fest, which you can see in a video here. Then, in November, our friends at The Institute for Family Health opened the doors to the Pine Street Family Health Center, which will be guided by Medical Director Dr. Marta Sanchez, a Midtown resident. NoVo supported the construction of this new resource, which offers primary care, mental health care, social-services and community wellness programming.
Finally, in November, we were thrilled to host the grand opening of The Greenkill House welcoming 100+ community members to check out this newly renovated space.The facility, which is an adaptive reuse project designed by Dutton Architecture and renovated by R. Bradley Construction, both Midtown Kingston-based firms, will be operated by The Boys and Girls Club of Kingston and will offer programming for older youth in the 18-to-24+ year age range.
It’s truly the spirit of teamwork that brings these beautiful initiatives to life. So, as we step into 2024 with renewed enthusiasm we want to extend a massive THANK YOU to all our Kingston partners. Here’s to 2024!

NoVo in Kingston and Boys and Girls Club of Ulster County Celebrate Opening of the Greenkill House
NoVo in Kingston and the Boys and Girls Club of Ulster County celebrated the opening of the Greenkill House, a new resource for Midtown youth ages 16-24+, on the evening of November 9th with a ribbon cutting, community meal and open house.
Pine Street Family Health Center Celebrates Grand Opening
Love, gratitude, and community were central to the celebration as local leaders and elected officials gathered on Thursday, November 16, to announce the grand opening of the Pine Street Family Health Center.
Midtown Comes Together for Winter Wonderland Party
Roseldie Desanges sings holiday carols at the Midtown Winter Wonderland, a festival held at the Broadway Bubble, and hosted by The Center for Creative Education, Midtown Business Alliance, the YMCA of Kingston and Ulster County, Radio Kingston, Ulster Performing Arts Center, and the City of Kingston. The Broadway Bubble Laundromat and Community Hub is a project of Kingston Midtown Rising and supported by NoVo in Kingston. The event, which was held December 16th, welcomed hundreds of community members to celebrate diverse cultural holiday traditions such as Christmas, Kwanza, Hanukkah, El Día de los Reyes, and Las Posadas with music, food, and more!
Holding Space for Tenderness: Cyanotype Project Premiers in 2024
The windows of 708 Broadway will be transformed in early 2024 with a large-scale installation featuring the hands and heartfelt sentiments of Midtown residents. Holding Space for Tenderness aims to celebrate individuality and creativity with a mural featuring community members holding treasured objects. Stay tuned! Initial site work and building renovations are planned for 708 Broadway in the coming months, with a series of community pop-up events featuring arts, music, recreation, and more to be held in Summer 2024.
